Graded multiple choice questions are provided at the end of each course. 75% of these must be answered correctly to complete the course. After three unsuccessful attempts to do so, the course will be marked as unsuccessful.

Description: This course satisfies prerequisite training requirements for the certification of personnel who conduct military preservation, packaging, unitization, and ISO containerization activities as prescribed by DoDI 5160.68, AR 700-15, and AR 700-37, and DA Fellows enrolled in Quality Assurance Specialist, Ammunition Surveillance (QASAS) or Ammunition Management Functional Communities as prescribed by AR 690-950. This course provides a comprehensive review of military packaging and preservation methods, military packaging policy criteria, and packaging specifications and standards, as well technical training in the application of cleaning and drying processes, preservation materials, cushioning, unit and intermediate packing methods, military marking and labeling, outer packaging procedures, palletized and unitized loads, containerization, and blocking and bracing.

Audience: Military, civilian, and DoD contractor personnel who perform entry and journeyman-level preservation, packing, and unitization operations as prescribed by DoDI 5160.68, AR 700-15, and AR 700-37 and DA Fellows enrolled in Quality Assurance Specialist, Ammunition Surveillance (QASAS) or Ammunition Management Functional Communities as prescribed by AR 690-950.

Length: Approximately 26 hours (self-paced learning).

Special Information: This course is considered prerequisite training for Course No. 8A-F61/551-F53, MILITARY PRES & PKGING FOR STORAGE & SHIPMENT (CERT), which is required training for the certification of personnel who conduct military preservation, packaging, unitization, and ISO containerization activities. This course is a web-based (online) course. Students must have web access and a CAC card. Students must register through ATRRS for course credit. A high-speed Internet connection is recommended to complete the course.
