Description: This course satisfies certification training requirements for personnel requiring a fundamental understanding of the hierarchy, purpose, scope, and change management practices of DoD and Service publications as prescribed by DoD 5160.68, AR 385-10, and DA PAM 385-64. Course content includes a comprehensive review of the various publications used by all branches of Service within the DoD, as well as technical training in the application and interpretation of DoD, Army, Air Force, Navy, and multi-service publications and federal law. This course additionally provides an overview of the numbering systems used to identify and manage DoD and Service-specific guidance (e.g., military specifications and standards, DoD issuances, administrative, technical, and joint publications).
Audience: Personnel requiring a fundamental understanding of the hierarchy, purpose, scope, and change management practices of DoD and Service publications as prescribed by DoD 5160.68, AR 385-10, and DA PAM 385-64.
Length: Approximately 8 hours (self-paced learning).
Special Information: This course is a web-based (online) course hosted on the Army Training Information System (ATIS). Students must have web access and a CAC card. Students must register through ATRRS for course credit. A high-speed Internet connection is recommended to complete the course.
