RISK MGMT & PREP OF SOP FOR AMMO & EXP (CERT)

Description: This course satisfies initial mandatory certification training and refresher certification training requirements for personnel responsible for conducting the hazard analysis and risk management process and/or the preparation or review of SOPs for AE operations as prescribed by prescribed by DoDI 5160.68, AR 690-950, AR 385-10, DA PAM 700-107, and DA PAM 385-64, as well training and certification requirements for personnel working in ammunition operations as prescribed by AMC-R 350-4, AR 700-28, and DoD Manuel 4145.26. This course provides a comprehensive review of regulations governing the risk management process, as well as training in applying risk management principles, conducting hazard analyses, and developing SOPs for AE operations IAW Federal, DoD, DA, and AMC regulatory requirements. Students will receive training in hazard analysis and risk management, the five-step risk management process for identifying of hazards, developing hazard controls, and managing risks, and the development and review of SOPs for AE operations.
Audience: Personnel in various munitions-related disciplines including safety and occupational health professionals with explosives safety responsibilities, Quality Assurance Specialist, Ammunition Surveillance (QASAS), ammunition area and operation supervisors and planners, and additional personnel requiring initial mandatory certification training or refresher certification training for conducting the hazard analysis and risk management process and/or the preparation or review of SOPs for AE operations. Training is specifically cited as a training requirement by duty position in Table 5.1 of DDESB TP 27, Tables C-2, C-3, C-4, and D-2 of AMC-R 350-4, Table 9-1 of AR 700-28, Paragraph 22-8 of AR 385-10, Figure 1-1 of DA PAM 385-64, Appendix J of DA PAM 700-107, and Appendix A of DOE-STD-8002-2023.
Length: Approximately 8 hours (self-paced learning).
Special Information: This course is a web-based (online) course hosted on the Army Training Information System (ATIS). Students must have web access and a CAC card. Students must register through ATRRS for course credit. A high-speed Internet connection is recommended to complete the course.
