Description: This course satisfies initial mandatory certification training and refresher certification training requirements for personnel responsible for conducting the hazard analysis and risk management process and/or the preparation or review of SOPs for A&E operations as prescribed by DoDI 5160.68, AR 690-950, AR 385-10, and DA PAM 385-64, as well training and certification requirements for personnel working in ammunition operations as prescribed by AMC-R 350-4 and AMC-R 385-100. This course provides a comprehensive review of regulations governing the risk management process, as well as training in applying risk management principles, conducting hazard analyses, and developing SOPs for A&E operations IAW DA PAM 700-107 and Federal, DoD, DA, and AMC regulatory requirements. Students will receive training in hazard analysis and risk management, the five-step risk management process for identifying of hazards, developing hazard controls, and managing risks, and the development and review of SOPs for A&E operations.

Audience: Personnel in various munitions-related disciplines including safety and occupational health professionals with explosives safety responsibilities, Quality Assurance Specialist, Ammunition Surveillance (QASAS), ammunition area and operation supervisors and planners, and additional personnel requiring initial mandatory certification training or refresher certification training for conducting the hazard analysis and risk management process and/or the preparation or review of SOPs for A&E operations as prescribed by DoDI 5160.68, AR 690-950, AR 385-10, and DA PAM 385-64, as well personnel working in ammunition operations as prescribed by AMC-R 350-4 and AMC-R 385-100. NOTE: This course is rated FD3 and not available to International Military Students.

Length: Approximately 8 hours (self-paced learning).

Special Information: Personnel seeking initial certification training may successfully complete this distance learning (DL) course or the instructor-led version ‐ Course No. 9E-F60/950-F39, RISK MGMT & PREP OF SOP FOR AMMO & EXP (CERT).
This course is a web-based (online) course hosted on the Army Learning Management System (ALMS). Students must have web access and a CAC card. Students must register through ATRRS for course credit. A high-speed Internet connection is recommended to complete the course.
