Description: This course satisfies mandatory training requirements for the certification of personnel responsible for the management, supervision, planning, or execution of ammunition and explosives (A&E) operations as prescribed by DoDI 5160.68, AR 385-10, DA PAM 385-64, and AMC-R 350-4. This course provides a comprehensive review of regulations governing A&E operations, as well as training in applying technical A&E concepts to include National Stock Numbers (NSNs) and Lot Numbers, Controlled Item Inventory Codes (CIICs), conveyance inspections (DD Form 626), storage procedures, storage drawings, placarding, packaging, marking, compatibility, explosives safety, physical security, condition codes, defect codes, surveillance inspections, financial responsibilities, and records management.

Audience: Personnel responsible for the management, supervision, planning, or execution of ammunition and explosives (A&E) operations to include Ammunition Operation Supervisors and Planners; Senior Ammunition Operations Managers; Demil Planners, Supervisors, and Inspectors; Maintenance and Disassembly Demil Planners, Supervisors, and Inspectors; Explosives Safety Specialists; Ammunition Surveillance Inspectors; and Transportation Supervisors, Planners, and Inspectors as prescribed by DoDI 5160.68, AR 385-10, DA PAM 385-64, and AMC-R 350-4. NOTE: This course is rated FD3 and not available to International Military Students.

Length: 2 Weeks.

Special Information: Students are required to bring safety shoes, safety glasses, and appropriate clothing suitable for field conditions during the two field days scheduled for this course. Clothing for all other days must comply with the classroom dress code.

Required Equipment: None.

Prerequisites: Completion of Course No. 9E-F67/920-F35, INTRODUCTION TO AMMUNITION (CERT), offered by the Defense Ammunition Center (DAC) via distance learning (DL) is highly recommended.

Security Clearance: None required.

Course Topics:

The IACET Standard: DAC has been approved by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) as an Authorized Provider of Continuing Education Units (CEUs). In obtaining this accreditation, the Defense Ammunition Center has demonstrated that it complies with the ANSI/IACET Standard which is recognized internationally as a standard of good practice. The DAC awards 7.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) on the course certificate for successful completion of this course.
