Description: This course satisfies mandatory training requirements for personnel responsible for conducting guided missile and large rocket surveillance functions as prescribed by DoDI 5160.68 and AR 385-10 and DA Fellows enrolled in Quality Assurance Specialist, (Ammunition Surveillance) - QASAS Functional Community 20 or Ammunition Management Functional Community 33 as prescribed by AR 690-950. This course provides technical training in properly applying regulatory guidance governing guided missile and large rocket surveillance operations, as well as concepts critical to guided missile and large rocket munitions to include model designations, design concepts and system characteristics, humidity and desiccant monitoring and exchange, safety considerations, maintenance and testing, storage, physical security, and inspection types, intervals, standards, criteria, and reports. Course instruction also includes the utilization of the Munitions History Program (MHP) to obtain surveillance data and reports such as Missile Supplemental Notices (MSNs), Missile Information Notices (MINs), Ammunition Condition Reports (ACRs), Depot Surveillance Records (DSRs), and condition code data.

Audience: Personnel requiring training to conduct guided missile and large rocket surveillance functions as prescribed by DoDI 5160.68 and AR 385-10 and DA Fellows enrolled in Quality Assurance Specialist, (Ammunition Surveillance) - QASAS Functional Community 20 or Ammunition Management Functional Community 33 as prescribed by AR 690-950.

Length: 2 Weeks, 3 Days.

Special Information: Students are required to bring safety shoes, safety glasses, and appropriate clothing suitable for field and workshop conditions. This course involves inspecting missiles and large rockets in a workshop environment. Students are required to wear appropriate safety gear at all times while in the workshop. Instructor will notify students of designated workshop and/or field days at the start of the class. Clothing for all other days must comply with the dress code.

Required Equipment: None.

Prerequisites: Completion of Course No. 9E-F67/920-F35 (DL), INTRODUCTION TO AMMUNITION (CERT), offered by the Defense Ammunition Center (DAC) via distance learning (DL) is highly recommended for personnel not enrolled in DA Functional Community 20 or Functional Community 33.
